Introduction

Post -Modernism is a movement that developed in the mid to late 20th century. It breaks away from traditional styles opening up the texts to contain multiple meaning or the lack of meaning. Allowing the audience interpret the meaning of the text.  This is done through fragmented conversations, irony, paradox, playfulness, and no clear distinction of time and space. In 1966 a Bulgarian - French philosopher Julia Kristeva brought forward intertextuality  and explaining when we read there is two connections. One with the reader and the author and another between the text and other texts. Understand this is important for us to be able to see beyond what we are understanding from the author.
